Over the last 6 years, I’ve worked as a Microsoft Software Engineering Intern during university for 15 months, received 2 competing Microsoft grad role offers, was promoted twice in 2 years right out of university, shipped 4 global products, have spoken at dozens of events, won 13 awards, and founded HerHelloWorld with the mission of helping others succeed in the tech industry which is now a community of over 40k!
⚡ How did I do it?
I found alignment between what made me ME and my career. By using career strategy to maximize the intersections, I was able to realize some of my ultimate career goals just a couple years into my career. I can show you how to do the same!
First, let me give you a little backstory: I packed my bags after high school to move from Seattle to England to study my undergrad. As I embarked on my journey of entering the tech industry, building a career, and starting a whole new life in a new country, I quickly realized there was much I needed to learn about the industry and myself.
But, the idea of the “industry” seemed almost intangible – I had no idea how to focus my career efforts, engage with the industry, or make my voice heard. I felt lost with little guidance, so I set about finding mentors and building up my place in the industry.
Now, after 6 years of speaking to industry experts, countless hours of research, and lessons learnt (not always the easy way), I’ve condensed the knowledge and thought exercises that helped me craft my career into this guide to ACCELERATE your career and help you THRIVE!
